Matt Lane, DVM
Dr. Lane was born in Florida but doesn’t remember it because he moved to Tennessee before he was a year old. He grew up in Murfreesboro and attended Lascassas Elementary School and graduated from Oakland High School. He went to The University of Tennessee for both college and veterinary school. He has been a veterinarian since 2009.
As a veterinarian he has worked in many different places. Most of his time has been spent in Nashville and Murfreesboro, but home has always been here. Dr. Lane spent three years in the Army Veterinary Corps Reserves, a year working for a pharmaceutical company, and the rest with dogs and cats in clinics all over Middle Tennessee.
In July of this year Dr. Lane opened Aberlea Veterinary Life Planning, a practice for dogs and cats that focuses most on pet owners and their bonds with their pets. His passion lies in relationships with his patients and teaching pet owners about their animals.
Outside of work Dr. Lane has been married to his awesome wife Lauren since 2008. She teaches at Central Magnet School. He and Lauren met in Animal Science class at Tennessee learning to check cows for pregnancy. They have one son named Baird who is a third grader at Lascassas. Dr. Lane’s greatest joy comes from spending quality time with Lauren watching Baird grow (mostly sports right now). He also loves cheering on the Tennessee Vols in any sport…Go Vols!
